We were invited to the joint press event of Volvo Hungária Kft. and Waberer’s International Nyrt., which took place on 02.02.2023 in Zsámbék at the Drivingcamp Hungary Traffic Safety and Driving Technology Center.
Volvo Hungária Kft. handed over Hungary’s first purely electric Volvo tractor unit, an electric Volvo FH model, to the Waberer’s group.
For both companies, the development of a cleaner and more sustainable road freight transport is extremely important, so the vehicle handover at the event can be mentioned as another important milestone in the long-standing joint cooperation of the companies.
It is not the first time that Volvo Hungária Kft. has handed over an electric truck to the Waberer’s group of companies, this is now the third purely electric vehicle that has been handed over. The vehicle was designed for fast and comfortable transport of goods between logistics hubs and large cities, and Waberer’s will use it for the same purpose.
The recently delivered model, called Volvo FH, is a tractor unit with a 4×2 axle formula, on which the driver’s comfort is ensured by an extra-high sleeper cab.
During the high-quality presentation, the electric Volvo vehicles could be tried out with the help of instructors. The truck’s vibration-free and quiet operation is pleasant, its acceleration is sufficiently dynamic, so the travel comfort proves to be excellent.
The long range, which can be up to 300 kilometers, is helped by the battery pack consisting of 6 batteries with a total capacity of 540 kWh.
Volvo Trucks’ uniquely developed I-Shift automated transmission and 3 electric motors make up the vehicle’s drivetrain, which provides 490 kW of continuous power, all with zero exhaust gas emissions.
